WARM UP SECRETS TO BOOST PERFORMANCE AND PREVENT INJURIES

PROPER WARM-UP GUIDE: GET READY TO CRUSH EVERY WORKOUT!

Warming up before a workout is an essential step to ensure exercise effectiveness and reduce the risk of injury. Just spending 5-15 minutes on warm-up exercises can help your body heat up, improve blood circulation, and enhance joint and muscle flexibility, preparing you for the challenges of your workout session. Below are some basic warm-up exercises that you can easily follow along with Rock IT.

Warming Up Before Your Workout

1. JOINT ROTATIONS

  • Wrists and Ankles: Gently rotate clockwise and counterclockwise for 10-15 seconds on each side.
  • Shoulders and Hips: Place your hands on your hips and gently rotate in circles, then switch to shoulder rotations to warm up the main joints.

2. FULL BODY STRETCHES

  • Arm Stretch: Bring your right arm across your chest and hold it with your left hand for 15 seconds, then switch sides.
  • Leg Stretch: Stand upright, pull one leg back and hold it with the same-side hand for 15-20 seconds, then switch legs.
  • Forward Bend: Stand upright, bend forward to touch your toes, and hold for 10-15 seconds to stretch the hamstrings.

3. LIGHT CARDIO

  • Jog in Place: Jog gently for 1-2 minutes to raise your heart rate and warm up your body.
  • Jump Rope: Perform 50-100 gentle jumps if you have a jump rope.
  • Jumping Jacks: This helps with flexibility while raising the heart rate, preparing you for the main workout.

4. CORE AND UPPER BODY MOVEMENTS

  • Short Plank: Hold a basic plank for 15-20 seconds to activate your abs and back.
  • Torso Twists: Sit or stand, gently twist your upper body from side to side.

5. KNEE AND HIP JOINT EXERCISES

  • Basic Lunge: Perform 8-10 lunges on each leg to warm up the thigh muscles and knee joints.
  • Light Squats: Do 10-15 slow squats to activate your leg and hip muscles.
